Daniel (Dan) Karan

Daniel (Dan) Karan is Atmosphere's 11th Grade Social Studies Teacher. Before joining Atmosphere Academy, Dan served as the Special Education teacher for a 12th-grade Social Studies class, focusing on Government and Economics, for the past three years. Dan’s extensive background spans 30 years in NYC nonprofit housing and community development organizations. For over half of those years, he conducted comprehensive 3-hour classes for low-income tenants, covering the intricacies of owning and operating their buildings as limited equity housing cooperatives. Dan looks forward to sharing his knowledge and love for education with his students.
